What sparked your desire to work in a senior living community?
No matter the title I am given, I will always be a chef first. Enriching lives’ is why I chose to work in Senior care. This is the last of the “Greatest Generation” that paved the way for many of the freedoms we have today. I feel obligated and honored to give them the best food & Service we can provide.
Did you go through any special training or education that helps with your current role?
Joe has 25 years of hands-on experience as well as Associates of applied science in culinary arts & Hospitality and Restaurant management from the Chef’s Academy in Indianapolis Indiana.
What is the best part of your workday?
The best part of the day is mealtimes! Being able to share what the Chefs have created especially for you
What is your favorite resident memory or story?
On my first day before I had even met any residents, I was welcomed and greeted LOUDLY by four very vibrant ladies in the dining room… I am sure I will have many more memories here at Kingsley Shores/Place
What makes your community stand out from your competition.
What makes our community stand out from our competition? Our entire team, from directors to nursing and dining team. We will strive to be the model of fine dining, both food and service for other Silvercrest properties to follow.

If you could have a superpower – which one would you choose and why?
To absorb the pain of others without causing damage. So many people struggle with grief and depression or pain…I wish I could sometimes carry that burden for them.
Tell us one thing about yourself that would surprise your residents?
I am an adrenaline junkie.
