Don’t Wait for a Crisis to Plan for Senior Living

We hear these stories unfortunately far too often. “Well, mom didn’t want to move so we thought that we were helping her by keeping her home.”

The sad but true fact is, that if you allow yourself or a loved one to wait until something bad happens, you’re not giving yourself the opportunity to keep some of that independence or to keep your quality of life. If you were driving and heard loud noises coming from the engine or a little smoke coming out of the hood, would you get it checked and fixed or wait until it completely broke down and you are stranded on the side of the road?

Having a big fall on the ice or having a loved one with dementia wander outside in this wintry weather can lead to scary and often tragic endings. Then, after the crisis, you try and put together a plan of moving mom or dad in a rush. This doesn’t typically work well. Not for the family members, not for the senior living that they’re moving into and especially not for the individual moving in. Moving into a senior living should be a well thought out plan and put together with care, we can help with that.
